Facebook Finds Friday

This week flew by and I ain't complainin'!!

I am not sure which is my favorite today ... maybe the important phone call one, because I hate talking on the phone {right, Amber?}. Also, I am now definitely craving Lucky Charms, but the charms only. :) Oh, and it must be said, the middle child one? Story.of.my.life.

I just keep surprising myself

Not only have I become domestic, but I just keep keeping one baby alive after another!

Several weeks ago, I had the privilege of taking care of the tiniest, five-week old squish, Ellie. That went so well, that when the opportunity arose to chill with Jack, I couldn't say no!

Isn't he scrumptious? Yes, I have a problem. I want to much on little humans. Is that so bad?

I feel so proud of myself for having a 100% track record of all the children surviving under my care, it's like I Martha Stewart of caregivers. And with all this domesticity going around, I am pretty much like the Martha Stewart of Martha Stewart's {sans that whole prison term thing and what got her there in the first place, remember, my thug days are over}.

P.S. Jack belongs to Adam, one of my favorites.

But, that is besides the point of how domestic I am. So, we best not digress from the point of this post.

P.S. It's Thursday, guys! One.more.day.!!!!

Things are getting scary over here!

Saturday morning, I woke up and went to a fabric store.

No, you didn't read that wrong. Guys, I went to a fabric store. And I am not sure I like who I am becoming. I mean, who does that?

Domestic people?

Crafternoon people?

DIY people!?

I just cannot take the madness!!!

Ahem. Let's compose ourselves.

Remember how I "decorated" my living room in May?

Well, June is the month of my bedroom.

So I used the ... fabric {wow, it is even difficult to say that word} to brighten up a piece in my bedroom a bit.

So, what I am getting at is this ... not only do I know how to spell the word reupholster, I actually reupholstered something.

WHAT? Again, who have I become? DON'T ANSWER THAT. I still firmly believe in #BIY {buy it yourself}. I am the same old Mindy you've always know, I promise

I am just glad to have gotten that off my chest. And to keep looking at my adorable vanity seat.

P.S. #islandhaven {the name of my new house} is the first house I have ever decorated with pink. True story, even though you probably doubt that. I sometimes doubt it, even though it is true.

Well, now I am off to ensure I don't do anything myself for a really long time. To help me in this pursuit, who is willing to make me dinner tonight?

P.S. When I intstagrammed the photo, I thought I was putting the hashtag of DIY ... thought I was. I actually ended up with #DYI. Yeah, do yourself it. Good job, Mindy. Case in point I am not meant to be a do it yourselfer.

I have the appetite of a 14-year-old boy

Every year my work puts on a fantastic community event called Bike with Brent.

Brent is somewhat of a local celebrity in these parts. He can be seen snow or shine riding his bike around Cache Valley, honking his horn and waving to absolutely everyone.

This event give everyone the chance to bike with him and participate in a variety of events.

My favorite event is actually not the bike ride {fact: I have never been able to bike it, I am always helping out with a client who is struggling to manage their behavior, ah - the life of a behaviorist}. My favorite event is ... the pie eating contest, naturally. :)

The best part of the pie eating contest is that other staff members think they can actually beat me.

Weird, right?

I won the inaugural event last year at Bike with Brent and I also won at it at our Halloween carnival. No.one.stands.a.chance.

Getting ready for the big event.

Nothing but game faces here. Pie eating contest are very serious events.

So, yeah ... I ate the entire thing and ALL of this is what Meghan had left over. I think it is safe to say she got two bites in, no?

This next picture has nothing to do with the pie eating contest. I just really like my co-workers.

And I'm not going to lie, I love it when we match. Roughly 800-1,000 people wearing this shirt at the same time? I dig it.  If you dig it too, let me know and next year you can participate, including the pie eating contest. Just don't expect to win. ;)

Facebook Finds Friday

Hey, world.

Some of my most favorite people on the FACE of the PLANET are in little Logan, Utah for a week. And I am uber thrilled about it. And in honor of their existence in Logan {and because they said they like Facebook Finds Friday}, I am dusting off the cob webs and whipping one out for the day.

Which is your favorite?

I think mine is the brushing the teeth one, the donuts one and the 3D tiger one. :)

Also, if you haven't had a chance yet, please participate in the GREAT DEBATE!

The GREAT debate!

Okay, guys.

It's time to discuss a time old classic. The great debate of all debates. The one that at some point must be discussed in every home in every country, in every continent.

At least every home that has a toilet. And every country that uses toilet paper.

Sometimes I feel like I talk about toilets more than the average blogger. Seriously, if you use the search option on the left-hand column and type in toilet ... you're going to get a LOT of results.

But, whatevs.

We are getting sidetracked.

Which way does it go, folks?

Provide your input below.

Results will be revealed soon. And I will include my thoughts as well in the follow up. :)

Avoid being inundated with ridiculous boredom!

Hey, y'all.

I don't know where the word "y'all" just came from. I haven't spent excessive time on a farm or listening to country music. In fact, I haven't spent any time doing any of those things.

My life is pretty much consumed with work and then surviving grad school and autoimmune failure.

P.S. I graduate in less than two months now!!!!

Well, assuming I pass my classes. ;)

Because I so inundated with ridiculously boring things, I have Mary from Eat Drink & Be Mary here to keep things a little more lively. You're welcome. :)

Seven things you may or may not want to know about me:
+ I love to bake.  Not to be confuse with cooking.  I don't cook.  It's just not my thing.  That is, unless you consider Kraft Mac 'n Cheese cooking.  And in that case you'd probably consider me a chef.  It's my specialty.  Some of my favorite things I've baked recently are these Gorilla Bread & No-Bake Butterscotch Haystacks.

+ I am scared of big dogs.  This may or may not be related to a big dog charging at me at the young age of two, for stealing all the attention.  Can't Stop, Won't Stop. ;)

+I once made sugar cookies with salt instead of sugar.  Talk about awful!

+ I'm in a long distance relationship with the cutest ginger you've ever seen.  After dating in college, we've moved back home to separate states.  Slowly but surely we're learning to love while being over 200 miles away.

+ I can't ride a bike.  I once learned.  Forgot.  Wrecked.  Re-learned.  Forgot again.  And have yet to muster up the courage to what seems like just another wreck.  This is kinda embarrassing.  I'm the exception to the phrase, "it's like riding a bike."  Remind me again why I've decided to include this fact and tell the entire blog world that I can't do what most four year olds have mastered.

+ My favorite post I've ever written was -- My Ghosts of Boyfriends Past.  I love hearing about people's dating horror stories (and their LOVE stories).  Do tell!

+ I am a lover of all things coffee, Instagram, and anything with an elastic waist band.  This past Christmas I gained not one, two, but nine more pairs of leggings and tights this Christmas.

With all that said and done it seems that I am a college graduate who has no clue what she's doing with her life, doesn't know the difference between sugar and salt, hates dogs and doesn't even know how to ride a bike.  While this is not how I'd describe myself to someone, it doesn't hit too far from home.  So I've either scared you away or hopefully this has intrigued you to follow along this crazy ride I call life.  Who knows maybe I'll finally learn how to ride a bike again.

What is one thing I may (or may not) want to know about you?  Anybody else out there that doesn't know how to ride a bike?  What is your favorite post you've ever written--leave the link in the comments & I'll check it out.  Stop by my blog or email me (mbolster1007 @ gmail) & say hey I love making new friends!
