Africa + Oregon

For my birthday this year, I decided to treat myself with a trip to watch my Aggies play USC in Los Angeles.

Now, I understand that might not mean much to some of you, but trust me on this one, it's big deal.

For example, the stadium is the largest in the PAC-12 and has hosted the Olympics twice, as well as the Super Bowl and the World Series!

It will be the biggest sporting venue I have ever been to. And my little sports-lovin' heart couldn't be happier to be there to watch my Aggies.

But honestly, this is all beside the point today.

The point today is that the actual day of my birthday I will be traveling six hours from Logan to St. George {to acquire my brother to go on said birthday trip}. When I realized that is how I would be spending the actual day of my birth I basically told my brother, "Driving six hours in a car is a stupid way to spend a birthday, so I expect you to do something epic for me."

Half kidding. Half not

But, being the fantastico brother he is, he took it as complete truth, resulting in the following email from him earlier this week.

He never fails to amuse me. Never.

I can hardly contain my excitement!

I have no idea what he could possibly be getting me. The only connection those two locations have in my mind is : Oregon is home of Tracktown, USA and Africa is home of the best distance runners in with world!!!!

So, maybe he is sending me runners from both locations? The US Postal Service has no problem shipping humans ... right?

That has to be it. Like, what other connection do those two places have?

Anyone got a clue?

P.S. Today my parents have been married for 39 years! They are kind of a big deal. Not necessarily because they have been married for almost four decades, rather because I am their daughter. Haha. ;)
