I owned today

When I got out of bed at 5:45 AM this morning, I had no idea how much I would own this day. But own it, I did.

One, I normally don't make to-do lists because they never end up looking this awesome. I actually made this list after  I had completed everything {well, everything besides the grocery shopping and running}. Even if I did make to-do lists, I wouldn't add "eight hours of work" to it. Obvi. Buuut, I had to add that just to show how truly productive I was ... because it isn't likely to happen again. At least not anytime in this decade.

Oh, I missed one thing. I successfully got rid of a canker.

Seriously, wow. Such a good day.

What did your Monday look like?

Facebook Finds Friday | Week 15

I think I have successfully posted three of these on Friday in a row! I am on a roll!

This week, I think my favorites are the John Stamos one, the "To Kill a Mockingbird", the hula hoop and Prince Harry as Scar. Oh, and if I ever get married, I could be tempted to have a photo like the one below. :)

Lakes, fireworks & Brooklynn!

Yesterday was Pioneer Day here in Utah.

All that means is: no work, the lake and fireworks.

It's a rough job, but someone has to celebrate.

P.S. Today I have Brooklyn visiting. She's super cute. That's all.

Hey you cute people! I'm Brooklyn from This Little Blonde and I have an awesome post for you today!

When I saw this pin on Pinterest the other day, I fell in love with the concept of being someone's umbrella. The world is full of so much rain. There is so much filth and negativity in this world. There is so much putting down of others to build self up. Why not be different? Why not be the umbrella the people you care about can trust to always protect them from the storm?

Quote 1

"None of us need one more person bashing or pointing out where we have failed or fallen short. Most of us are already well aware of the areas in which we are weak. What each of us does need is family, friends, employers, and brothers and sisters who support us, who have the patience to teach us, who believe in us, and who believe we’re trying to do the best we can, in spite of our weaknesses. What ever happened to giving each other the benefit of the doubt? What ever happened to hoping that another person would succeed or achieve? What ever happened to rooting for each other?" (Marvin J. Ashton)

Quote 2

Your observations and subsequent conclusions about others often reveal more about yourself than those whom you observe.

Quote 3

"We can begin to become more diligent and concerned at home by telling the people we love that we love them. Such expressions do not need to be flowery or lengthy. We simply should sincerely and frequently express love." (David A. Bednar)

There is a shortage of "I Believe In You's." This world is running low on encouragement. Be that person that others know will ALWAYS build them up. So put on that skimpy skirt, grab some pom poms and lets go cheer on the people we care about! There is so much rain, and too few umbrellas. Let's even the odds a little shall we?

May | Instagram

Instagram kinda ruins my life.

I post photos there. But not here.

I tell stories of my life through those photos there. But not here.

There is something in my head that says those photos should be posted here, but then I get torn between do I post them as a monthly Instagram post? Or do I do separate posts for them all? And then kinda have them be on repeat through multiple social media facets?

But I digress.

Here are May's Instagram photos that did not otherwise make this blog. Yes, almost two months late. Whatev. :)

 a. 12 mile hike left me as red as a lobster \\ b. Cream cheese brownie obsession continues \\ c. I am a farmer

 a. I used the eCard calendar for my Mother's Day card \\ b. Tiffy had a birthday! \\ c. Em came into town!

 a. Surprise flower delivery at work \\ b. I use the neighbor's hammock when they aren't home ... and when they are \\  c. I stole my little sister's peach, heart pants

a. First official snow cone of the summer! \\ b. Heather & Dustin's BIG day! \\ c. Letters from Russia are my favorite

a. I only walk up this hill for Aggie basketball, and apparently Claire's graduation \\ b. More hammock time \\ c. Claire is in there somewhere! Only the second graduation I have ever attended, none of which have been any of my own

a. I bought shorts in all the colors! \\ b. Too much time at Target \\ c. Apparently when you move in with me, you take on my name

And there we have it ... someday in September we might have June. :)

Sometimes, that is how I pronounce Chik-fil-a ... Chick-fill-it.

I am pretty much in love with Chikfillit. But seriously, who's not?

Some people have a sweet tooth, I have a Chikfillit tooth. Well, a Chikfillit tooth and a sweet tooth.

But this post is about my Chikfillit tooth.

Last night I was determined to purchase some Chikfillit after my softball game {I am still not able to play thanks to the glorious Mr. Hamstring, but I still go to all the games to make sure everyone plays nice}. However, after the the double overtime loss by one point {and our sixth player getting injured this season}, I forgot all about my Chikfillet tooth. That is, until I got home and roommate Claire said, "Roommate Jill went to go get Chik-fil-a." Buut, she didn't say roommate, she just said Jill.

Re-enter my Chikfillet tooth.

Buuuut, it was 9:36 PM ... and I just didn't have it in me to drive the full four minutes to pick some up for myself.

So, I did the only natural thing possible. I solicited my 1,257 Facebook friends if they would go get some for me.

And when that wasn't successful, that was when roommate Claire suggested I call Chikfillet to deliver. I got uber excited. "I think it would be their pleasure to deliver!" I exclaimed. {If you know Chikfillet, you know that after every request you make they said, "My pleasure."}

So, call I did.

Mindy: Do you deliver?

Chikfillet Employee: Yes, for orders over $100.

Mindy: Oh, I was hoping it would be your pleasure to deliver an order under $100 dollars to my house.

Mindy: I guess not. Thanks anyway.

Chikfillet Employee: My pleasure!

It was then I realized Jimmy John's does deliver.

So, I called them up.

Jimmy John's Employee: Something, something Jimmy John's.

Mindy: Hi. I was wondering if you delivered.

Jimmy John's Employee: Yes, we do. What is your phone number?

Mindy: Well, I actually was wondering if you delivered food from other food establishments.

Jimmy John's Employee: Other food establishments?

Mindy: Yeah, like Chik-fil-a.

Jimmy John's Employee: You want to know if we will deliver Chik-fil-a to you?

Mindy: Yes.

Jimmy John's Employee: No, we don't. In fact, I have never been asked that before {insert attempt to muffle laughter}.

Mindy: Okay, well, thanks.

Jimmy John's Employee: {Laughter} Uh-huh {more laughter}.

So, yeah.  Jimmy John's doesn't deliver Chikfillet. You're welcome for me discovering this for you.

And I didn't get any Chikfillet last night. Buuuut, here is hopin' for today. And I will have to pick it up myself, apparently. Whatevs.

Happy Wednesday, people!

P.S. Do I read your blog? Maybe I should.

Hi, friends.

I just wanted to throw this out there into the blogsphere.

I always get excited to see a new follower whether that be on Bloglovin' or with Google Friend Connect.

However, I always get sad when I go to find your blog and I am not able to! If Google connect links to your Google+ page I will not be able to find your blog. And if you do not put your link on your Google Friend Connect profile, I also cannot find your blog.

And if you follow this blog, I really want to return the favor! So, help a girl out! If you read this blog and I am not reading yours (determined by me leaving comments, I am a really good comment-leaver), please leave your blog address in the comments section below! Holy exclamation points, Batman. :) Then I will be able to come visit you

And that is all I wanted to say today. :)

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."

Psalms 19:1

I snapped this the other night and this is the photo untouched.

I love, love Logan, Utah.

Speaking of art, I have a friend visiting the blog today. Her name is Cody and I will let her do the rest of the talking. :)

P.S. My favorite piece she has shown is the watermelon. What is yours?

The name is Cody and I blog at Catching Cody K about my hectic and lovely life. I live in two homes in Florida. The one where I grew up with my special needs brother and mother but on the weekends I am two and half hours away in my home I created with my boyfriend James on the coast. Currently I am saving up money to go back to college where I home to archive all my dreams.

Since I have been saving up money for college, it means that I can't do much. I am pretty much home 24/7. To help kill the boredom I have been drawing. I have been drawing since I was little. It wasn't just because that's what the teacher told me to do but was something I felt good at. Even if my pictures suck to many, I still love to draw. I would love to be able to turn my hobby into something more but for now I will keep drawing.

Lately I have been dappling in watercolors. I didn't realize how easy it is. For some reason I thought that watercolors was hard and was a media that I usually stated away from. Since being "poor", I found my old color set and since have been having fun. I am not great but practice always helps.

Are you creative?

What do you do? I'd love to see what you do.

Facebook Finds Friday | Week 13

Hi, friends. :)
Here are the gems I found on Facebook this week. But just so you know, I am kinda on a Facebook fast for the rest of July. Oh, no!
What this means is I will need help from YOU. Email me what you find or link up below so my readers can have something to enjoy while I am behind the times.
But enough about that. This is what I found before my Facebook fast began.
Heads up, the video will only be funny to you if you are LDS.
If you aren't LDS or don't know what that even is, look here. :)

Which is your favorite?

Mine is probably the dinosaur or the math one ... or the video. Or the cat one. :)

If you want to join in on the fun, add a Facebook Finds Friday button to your post and be sure to link up below!

Every now and again I explore Blogger and all the information is provides.

One that I always find particularly interesting is the "Stats" section. It is extremely informative.

It tells you the over all statistics of your blog {how many page views on any given day, week, month, or even all-time views}.

It tells you the most popular blog posts you have written by page view.

It tells you where your audience is from. This usually freaks bloggers out to see that someone from Siberia is reading their blog, especially considering they don't know anyone from or in Siberia!

It even tells you the traffic sources leading to your blog , which browser it was viewed on and Google searches people have done that have led to your blog.

I want to talk about that last one ... searches that have led to my blog.

I was viewing this yesterday {something I only do several times a year, if that}. And I wasn't surprised to find people had found my blog via: Mindy Thornley Blog, Sister Wives {after all, my two posts on them were quite controversial} and even Titanic Museum Artifacts.

However, there was one keyword phrase that did surprise me ... Shocked me actually and left me speechless.

Take a gander at the second to last search.

Since when did I ever talk about a sweaty girl pooping??

Well, besides now.

Also, it must be said, I have never mentioned Saturday's Warrior on this blog {until this very moment}. So, how does a Saturday's Warrior search bring up my blog?

Suddenly, I feel much better not only about what I Google search, but about what I do in my spare time also. And I hope this blog post did the same for you. :)
