Back to Portland ...

The day following our return from Seattle we wanted to see a few more sights of Portland before Brooke and I flew out that night. We wanted to go to the famous Japanese Gardens, but really didn't want to spend moola on the Sabbath and wanted to stick to free activities. So, across the street from the Japanese Gardens was the famous Rose Garden. We decided to check it out.

Yes, I am a heathen not in my Sunday clothes. I started off in my Sunday clothes, but was too cold so put on more clothing. :) Some of the sights ...

Adam smelling a rose. Brooke eating not a rose. :)

Upon entering the Rose Garden we read a little history and a little Q&A about it. One of the most commonly asked questions is, "What is the most fragrant rose?" The answer was, "Well, that's up for debate."

Uhm ... Attention folks: it no longer is. We literally smelled just about every flower we came to and ... this one won for best in smell {it's called a Firefighter}:

I wish I could have bottled the smell for you ... it was amazing.

After the Rose Garden we headed to Pittock Mansion. We really didn't know what it was, but Brooke had heard about it. So we had to see what all the fuss was about. Here's a glimpse of what it is all about {I would give you more info ... but I don't want to give it away. Either that or it cost nine dollah to get in and we were too cheap to spend that much! Hahaa!}

After the Pittock Mansion we did a little tradition of sorts of mine. Here's a hint.

Ah, the Portland Temple. Here are some random shots I took ...

{Blogger hates me and won't let me put this one in vertical. Whatev. P.S. You will notice I am no longer a heathen. Adam suggested I put my dress back on while on Temple Grounds. I obliged.}

After the Temple we headed to Adam's ward. But before we went in, we had a pre-mini-birthday celebration for Adam.

P.S. It was super hard to keep the candle on his cupcake lit!

We had to leave Church a little early to make our flight back to Utah. It was a faaaabulous trip that I loved every minute of. But it is also so fantastic to love home so much that I get giddily excited to return! Once it's time to get home, I can never get home soon enough!

Oh, and did I mention: we went to Oregon and Washington and it didn't rain on us once? Because it didn't. :)

Well, that's it. Peace out, boy scout. P.S. Next vacay: Disneyland in December! Woo-hoo!

Just for the record, I just finished it all! Looks like a fabulous trip and it was fun for me to see Brooke...we were in Latter Day Voices Choir together back when I was a wee lass at USU - 4 years ago! Time flies.

Looks like an excellent trip. Thanks for posting it all so I could live vicariously through you. I'd post my accounting homework so you could live vicariously through me, but that wouldn't be ethical because someone might cheat. =)
