Washington, DC

Hi. I am back.

First things first.

1. The humidity and my hair are not BFF. Throughout the entire trip, through photo documentation, you will see how my hair and the humidity fought on a regular basis.

2. Washington, DC hates bloggers. I saw more "No photography" signs my five days there than I had in the rest of my life, combined. For the extreme most part, if it was something super cool enough to take a picture of, you weren't allowed to. Mike said it best, "They should just have a sign before you walk out of the airport that reads, 'No photography beyond this point.'"

3. National Treasure was wrong. All wrong. I didn't see Nicholas Cage or any of the other actors sweat once. Not one little eensy-weensy drop of sweat. If you've been to DC, you know in the summer ... YOU SWEAT. Gross. Plus, how did they get tickets to Independence Hall in Philly so easily? Hmmm?

As always, 10 points for each day you read to it's entirety! :)

I like when you travel you always have such fun pictures and I have to say I found this post very educational with a lot of fun facts. I feel smarter having read all about your trip. Plus you look good in ALL your pictures despite what you think.

Dear Mindy: We have some serious work to do rectifying my points situation. I think, summing up the trip and everything, I have like one million. Also, I've pretty much read every single post you've made in the last I don't know how many years you've been blogging. That might deserve another 1000 at least.
The End. P.S. I like how you made your trip sound so exciting...especially because there were times when we were both A.D.D. and we still endured.

And by points I mean "Gold Stars."

Mindy, I just read all the posts about your trip. Only you could make that long of a narrative interesting, you crack me up! I literally laughed out loud when I saw the "murdered Mindy" picture (which was a little awkward since I'm on my lunchbreak at work and the diet tech looked at me like I was insane).

Loved the comments about your trip. Since we live in NC, I've been there several times, but I realized there is still more to do in DC!!! Where is your next adventure planned? (And I read each day in it's entirety! Woot!)

Dear Mindy, loved the pics and narrating. YOu make me laugh. I want to go to DC and visit a certain New Zelander now! ;) I read all posts, thought there were fabulous. So that makes at least 12 pts, but I am with Adam, I ready every single one of your posts, bc lets face it, I like how you write and it makes me laugh. Now I may be guilty at not commenting on all of them bc I read it at work, during work and sometimes I only have so much time to read and get back to work. So ya, I like that 100 10000 points/gold stars idea from Adam! Love ya girl!!

I didn't have any trouble getting tickets to Independence Hall when I was there, but I went in the Fall and not at peak tourist time... Perhaps that has something to do with it?

I HATED the humidity there as well - I ALWAYS had frizzed out hair... However, it is worth it to me because I LOVE the East Coast! I'm super jealous of your adventure out that way...

Oh, and I told my mom about your "no photography beyond this point: sign idea for the airport, and she laughed SO hard - Haha!
*muah*

P.S. How do you make a link to someone else's blog, like you did with Mike's name? I feel like I learn so much from your blog each time... Haha!

Humidity has never really been an issue for my hair (when hair is absolutely straight with no hint of a curl whatsoever, nothing affects it much), but I hate humidity anyway. It's that whole sweaty-gross thing you mentioned.

It does seem strange that you aren't allowed to take pictures of anything. How are you supposed to remember all the cool things you see? Weird.

So, I read all your vacations posts. That, as I added my stars, gives me another 105, or so.

Mindy,I'm glad you had a blast in Washington, DC. I hope you know who this since I'm borrowing your gold star theory. I have read your blog in it's entirety and I believe I deserve at least one Gold Star!
