Hi, my name is Mindy and ...

I am an overeater.

Now, hopefully most of you are doubting this. Hopefully.

But really, I am.

I am foolish enough to think that this just happened in the past week or two, when I've finally come to terms of admitting it. But, looking back, it's always been a problem, as flashbacks of middle school came. Did you know I used to take a box of crackers to my history class and eat them - the entire box that is? In one sitting. Not just once or twice. Mom, I am sorry, but that's where the Munch 'ems all went. In my belly. In third hour US history.

Other evidences of my overeating:

1. On vacations with my family, my family members actually began ordering additional food. Not because they were going to eat everything they ordered, but they knew I would eat whatever they didn't.

2. I eat two dinners at least twice a week. Wait, let me rephrase that. I eat at least one dinner every night ... and at least twice a week, I eat two dinners per night. So a grand total of 9 + dinners every week.

3. In my desk drawer at work I have the following items: peanut M&Ms, pretzels, two different kinds of Pringles, Better Cheddar crackers, peach rings, cream cheese brownies, and an entire box of Nutty Bars. And it isn't like this is the first time those items have been there ... They all continually get re-stocked.

4. And the worst of all ... I finish every meal with a 1.5 bowls of Reeses Puffs.

I think we might need an intervention, folks.

First to vote and first to comment! Sounds like you and I suffer from the same ailment...I definitely overeat.

You can overeat as long as you're not overweight (which you most definitely aren't). Obviously your body needs that many calories or you'd be gaining weight. So there you have it, straight from an RD.

I voted for the chin-length because I'm toying with the idea myself, yes I am contemplating entering the realm of mom-hair.

I hate people like you who can eat and eat and not gain weight. I run like 26-27 miles a week, eat about 1200 calories a day and STILL don't lose weight. I wish I had your problem! You're very blessed.

Chin length! It's just hair, it will always grow back if you hate it.

I always keep peanut M&Ms on hand... yum yum... I think they should have their own category on the food pyramid.

As for the hair, I voted for chin length... I just got my hair cut even shorter yesterday and am loving it! Easy summer 'do... and like everyone else has said, hair will always grow back if you don't like it... just ease your way into shortness... cut a little, then go a little shorter, etc.

Food at work is good to have, you can never have too many snacks. You dont over eat, I agree with the others, bc of your running etc, you need it girl. You look great, so whatever you are doing, keep it up.
As for the hair..... I think you should cut it. A new do is always a nice change, mine is short too, and it is cooler in the summer, the only down side, hard to put in a pony tail.... but I think you would look great short!!

As for the haircut...I voted you not do it, at least right now...Wait until after the marathon so you can still pull it up out of your face. After the marathon...go ahead and cut it! It will be the new you. Of course, whatever you do, we'll all still love ya!

(After all, my word for this comment, "farest"...is that "fairest"...sounds like Snow White! lol)

haha! Oh Mindy, I completely understand! I work at a restaurant, so I am almost constantly snacking and eating while at work. And there are several days where I eat dinner at home, and then when Josh and I get together, we eat again! Yay for big appetites!

You know, its funny because the other day my family was talking about how I had your EXACT same problem! My mom then decided that it must have come from my college days when I first moved away from home. You have now confirmed it. We rubbed off on one another. (except for my ranch fetish!) I also need an intervention, that or maybe we should hang out more. I absolutely love Pringles, Better Cheddar Crackers & Nutty Bars. We could have a lot of fun, most definitely.

What overeating is a disorder....that explains a lot. Maybe that is why I still have never lost the "baby fat" from having Jack. Maybe I need to work on that too....

Actually, my "overeating" was brought to my attention by my college bball coach my freshman year. She ever so unkindly pointed out to me that if I kept eating everyone else's unfinished meals as well as my own I would soon gain more than the "Freshman 15." No wonder I developed a eating complex.

Oh and at my reunion those pictures were taken Sunday morning. Everyone was there at the reunion but Kirk had already left to go to church because he is in his bishopric, Clint had left to go to church, and Brad had left to fly to meeting at Fort Knox, so they missed picture time.

Sorry for the long comment. Nice to see I earned stars though for just being in the same city as you at the same time! Woohoo!

As long as you are in good shape I think you are ok. Glad to hear you did not have swine flu. Sorry I don't blog very often, kids have kept me busy!! Good luck with it if you see it as a problem.

I voted a yes on the hair... and I think you can eat as much as you want, because we both know you stay active enough and have the metabolism to burn calories like MAD! I miss you. I have a pool... Mindy+Nicole+Pool=GOOD TIME... think about it. Call me.

I would love to intervene by emptying your desk drawer for you, but, alas, I am not near enough to do so.

As for two dinners per night, I started doing that when I got married, it didn't work so well for me. (Ray and I had different dinner schedules and rather than change, I just adopted both. Not good.) I've gone back to one dinner per night and it has helped my weight immensely.

I participated in the current poll. I think you might as well cut your hair off, if you're looking for a change. I was very against cutting my hair for a long time, then I had children. Then I cut my hair and I LOVE it. In fact, I really need to cut it again.
