Awkward ...

Awkward is when you accidentally attend a couples-only fireside on "Strengthening Your Marriage."

Welcome to my Sunday night.

And I didn't realize it until during the opening prayer. At which point I just started laughing. And a little too late to leave without bringing too much attention to myself.

To make matters worse, the speaker knew me. Knows me very well. Knows I don't have a current marriage to strengthen.

However, I'd like to take this time to thank my brother, Brandon for the beautiful sapphire ring he gave me for my 16th birthday ... Because I kid you not when I took it off my right hand and immediately put it on my left.

Phew. I fit in.

The end.

So...you found the long lost ring!
I forgot to ask you if you ever had!
I'm so glad!

ha ha that does sound awkward. One time I did the same sort of thing... I went to a "class" at Logan high that I was told was on how to obtain better study skills... and found out after I sat down it was a support group for women who have husbands that are currently engaged in some heavy duty addictions... AWKWARD! gotta love those moments though!

I am sure that you made the best of it Mindy! And look at this way, when you do get married you will know how to strengthen ur marriage, you will be a pro! What do you want to know about the boy?

Every single girl should have a ring that will work for such a purpose. You never know when it may come in handy to suddenly be "married."

Currently cracking up... which is not easy since I still have a stupid cough! grr...

Also, I love seeing the Charly picture back at the top of the blog... (good job keeping the other layout for 14 days!)

(And finally...I think I voted for 3 fingers.. and I am voting for you being depressed about the aggies losing)

That is not awkward. That is CLASSIC. Okay... maybe it's both.
I love that you switched your ring... I would have done the same thing.
... Except mine would not have been beautiful sapphire, but an "I Am A Child of God" ring... yea.
*muah*

P.S. My vote - Aggies losing....

Haha, nice Mindy. I'm sure most of the people there just thought you were a sad little wife whose husband wouldn't attend the fireside with you.

that's pretty awesome! I do dumb stuff like that too. This weekend I showed up for our ward valentines dance (by myself because josh was out of town). The YW planned the dance, and I'm in the YW so I knew that the dance was origionally supposed to be a soc hop- so I'm all decked out in my coustume. Apparently they decited to NOT do a soc hop, so when it was announced in Sacrament it was announced as "high casual" I was not in sacrament to get that announcment... and of course you would only have known it was oridgionally supposed to be a soc hop unless you were in YW- so very akward when I walked in.

Oh Mindy, I can totally relate.
At women's conference a couple of years ago my sister-in-law and I went to the wrong class. We accidently found ourselves in the FINDING an eternal companion class. I was so glad that we had each other there. With both of us being married, it was a little awkward, but at least we weren't the only one. We kept our rings firmly planted where they were though.
